A man was being tailgated by a stressed out woman on a busy street. Suddenly, the light turned yellow just in front of him.  He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk.  The tailgating woman hit the roof, and the horn, screaming as she missed her chance to get through the intersection.
As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tap on her window and looked up into the face of a police officer.  He took her to the police station where she was placed in a holding cell. After a couple of hours, the policeman opened the cell door and said, "I'm very sorry for this mistake, and you are free to go now.  You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping off the guy in front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him.  I noticed the 'What Would Jesus Do?' bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Sunday School' bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated Christian fish emblem on the trunk.  Naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car!"

People watch us. They know we are Christians, and they watch us to see if what we believe is true. How do we react in times of stress? Is God really there to comfort us when times get tough? Jesus said in Matthew 5:16- "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." We may be the only Jesus people ever see. Let's give them a good look at Him.

 In His love,

 Pastor Chris

The Apostle Paul wrote: “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38,39 NKJV

How often have we slowed down in our busy lives and meditated on these verses?  When was the last time we thought about what they mean?  Paul covers mortality, the spiritual realm, the present, the future, things high and things low.  All these things can bring us to the point of anxiety, but none of them (or anything else!) can separate us from God’s love for us in Christ Jesus!

Many people say they love us.  But Jesus showed His love for us by giving His life for us (John 15:13).  And He did it because He calls us friends.

Take time today to sit at the feet of your friend Jesus and experience His love.  Simply sit there and soak it in.  Being loved unconditionally is what we all want.  And it’s what Jesus does best.

It’s a perfect fit.

In His love,

Pastor Chris
