Pastor's Note

March 20, 2020

Hello Church family, and our Facebook friends, this is Pastor Chris.

I would guess that many of you are wondering if we will be holding regular church services on Sunday morning. We will not be meeting at our church building for services. INSTEAD, we will broadcast a video on Facebook live at 10:00 AM, with worship music and my preaching from the gospel of John.

Our church Facebook page can be found at: facebook.com/CalvaryKuna/

So…some might say we’re closing our doors due to a lack of faith. I don’t believe that. I have been wrestling with this decision all week. My elders have been praying about it with me. We came to a unanimous decision that this is the right thing to do, given the severity of the virus outbreak. We will worship God and teach His Word, but will do it in a way that keeps our church family safe.

Some might say, “But God will protect you!” Satan tempted Jesus with the same type of thing. But Jesus said in Matthew 4:7 NIV- “It is also written: ‘Do not put the LORD your God to the test.’

We’re not snake handlers, and we’re certainly not virus-proof! The federal government has asked all Americans not to congregate in groups of more than 10 people, at least for now. It’s a reasonable request.

Paul said in Romans 13:1 “1 Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.

They aren’t telling us we can’t preach the gospel.

They’re telling us we can’t preach the gospel to more than 10 people in a small space.

We can submit to their request while teaching the Gospel as we always do, simply by using the technology we have available to us.

I love the services we have each Sunday, but I love healthy people more!

If God is leading you to give financially to our fellowship while we’re not meeting, you can mail a check to us, at: 757 E Stagecoach Way, Kuna ID 83634.

We are working on a way for you to give to us online through our website.

That should be ready to go soon; we’ll let you know when it’s ready.

As I said last week, we know God is bigger than this virus, He’s completely aware of it, and He was not caught off-guard by it. We trust in Him, not the media, empty shelves at the store, or even our own heart. God created the universe. He’s worthy of our trust. Sickness is a result of sin in the world. Mankind brought sin in, and one day God will totally eradicate it. Until then, keep trusting in the one who has never let us down!

Join us on Facebook Sunday at 10:00AM as usual, for worship and the Gospel. It’ll be a precious time. All glory to Him!

God is good…All the time!

In His love,

Pastor Chris
